When Ray was a little girl, a teacher once told the class about some “women” of the past who moved out west, changed their names, and lived as men. As the teacher went on about how sad it was, Ray wondered why everyone didn’t do that. Fifteen years later, he moved out west, changed his name, and now lives in Nevada with his wife, their child, and two cats.

With a background in history and biology, Ray loves digging into worlds like our own, but a little bit cattywampus (whether his or someone else’s). He tends to enjoy fiction that’s a little bit on the darker side, but which never loses that spark of hope.
